Sticking throttle prompts Kenworth, Peterbilt recall of mid-duty models
Paccar is recalling approximately 1,101 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks due to an issue within the throttle pedal assembly that may cause the pedal to stick, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents.
The recall affects the following units:
- 2024 Kenworth T180
- 2023-‘24 Kenworth T280
- 2023-‘24 Kenworth T380
- 2023-‘24 Kenworth T480
- 2023-‘24 Peterbilt 535
- 2023-‘24 Peterbilt 536
- 2023-‘24 Peterbilt 537
- 2023-‘24 Peterbilt 548
In the affected units, the throttle pedal assembly may contain an oversized magnet carrier, slowing the responsiveness or causing the pedal to stick.
The magnet carrier acts as the pivot for the throttle pedal, and an oversized magnet carrier may cause the throttle pedal to bind. Applying the service brake will override the throttle if it sticks, the recall documents noted.
Dealers will inspect and replace the throttle pedal as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 17. Owners can contact Peterbilt's customer service at 940-591-4220 with recall number 25PBA and Kenworth's customer service at 425-828-5888 with recall number 25KWA. NHTSA’s recall number is 25V-014.

RaceTrac, RaceWay now accepting 10-4 by WEX
Truck drivers have a new way to pay for fuel at RaceTrac and RaceWay locations, as the locations will now accept payments from the 10-4 by WEX mobile app.

10-4 by WEX was introduced in October with acceptance at a number of truck stops, including those in the networks of AMBEST, Road Ranger, Sapp Bros., Love’s Travel Stops, and the 7FLEET Diesel Network (Speedway, Stripes, and 7-Eleven).
This cardless payment service is available at all travel centers and extended diesel offering (EDO) stores, offering an accessible and innovative option tailored to the needs of independent owner-operators, the company said. The 10-4 by WEX app provides a mobile-based platform that allows drivers to pay for fuel securely and efficiently without the need for a physical card. The platform offers nationwide diesel discounts to independent, small business and large enterprise truckers.
Unlike traditional fleet cards, 10-4 by WEX does not require a credit check, making it a practical alternative for owner-operators who may face barriers to obtaining other payment options. Users simply upload the debit or credit card of their choice and start saving with no transaction fees.
“The 10-4 by WEX app is an efficient solution for many of our professional driver guests, including independent owner-operators and other small trucking operations,” said Nick LaFalce, Fleet Marketing Manager for RaceTrac and RaceWay. “With an expanding variety of payment methods at the pump, we hope to gain loyal customers and offer frictionless transactions with instant savings at the pump for all professional drivers -- in whatever ways work best for their business.”
The 10-4 by WEX mobile app is free and available in the Google Play Store or the App Store.

Mack Pinnacle units recalled for air brake issue
Mack Trucks is recalling approximately 21 model year 2024-’25 Pinnacle trucks in which the air tanks have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. This causes the truck to fall out of compliance with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
Insufficient air in the air tanks can impact braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will install the correct volume air tanks, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 17. Owners can contact Mack's customer service at 800-866-1177 with recall number SC0473. NHTSA’s recall number is 25V-026.
