Truckers News’ Fit for the Road program wrapped up a successful event-filled three days at the Great West Truck Show in Las Vegas last week and plans to a big presence at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Aug. 26-28.
Fit for the Road, along with the Healthy Trucking Association of America, sponsored Great West’s Health, Wellness & Safety Pavilion, which included health-related screenings, presentations and focus groups.
Fit for the Road plans to be a part of the pavilion at GATS with Jasmine “Jazzy Jordan on-hand in the booth to sign autographs, Jordan, who recently completed a 3,000-plus-mile cross-country run to generate awareness about truckers insurance and health needs, was the subject of Truckers News’ July cover story.
Fit for the Road also plans to hold a 5k-run in conjunction with GATS at Katy Trail. And like at Great West, Fit for the Road and HTAA also will again sponsor a 1.5-mile walk during the show.
Affected tractors are equipped with an automated Eaton UltraShift Plus or Eaton Advantage Transmission with right hand stalk shifter. In the affected trucks, the display on the instrument panel can indicate “N” when the shifter is set into “D” or “R,” causing the truck not to move.
