The Mantis-175 auxiliary power unit was developed to meet the increasing demand for over-the-road truckers to reduce fuel costs while maintaining creature comforts when they are idled, the company says. The Mantis-175 has an Isuzu, 3-cylinder, quiet-running engine that runs at 1,800 rpm, which preserves engine life and consumes little fuel. Its air conditioner and heater boast 32,000 BTUs and 35,000 BTUs respectively, and the Mantis has a 140-amp alternator.
