Meritor’s Opti-Lite brake drums are designed for line-haul and weight-sensitive applications and were developed on the same platform as the company’s SteeLite X30 brake drum. Opti-Lite drums are available in wheel-end configurations for steer, drive and trailer axle applications and are engineered for reduced vehicle weight when compared to full-cast units. The drums do not require welded-on weights and are designed for an optimized balance spec for smoother on-road performance.
