Diesel prices continue to fall

For the third week in a row, the national average retail price of a gallon of diesel declined this week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The price dropped 4.1 cents to $2.98 in the latest week, the first time the national average has been below $3 since late March.

All regions reported big declines, led by a 6.8-cent decrease to $3.094 in California. The expensive West Coast fell 5 cents to $3.082. The cheapest diesel can be found on the Gulf Coast at $2.936, while the highest price is in the Central Atlantic area at $3.121.
