Michelin Americas Truck Tires’ Michelin X One XDA Energy tire is the company’s most fuel-efficient drive tire to date. The company says this is thanks to different belt designs and Advanced Technology compounds. It uses Infini-Coil Technology, which includes more than a quarter-of-a-mile of steel cord wrapped circumferentially around the crown of every X One tire. The Infini-Coil reduces casing growth and stabilizes the contact patch, reducing irregular wear, the company said. In addition, Matrix Siping Technology helps provide greater traction on dry and slippery surfaces. The three-dimensional Matrix sipes lock together for the stability normally associated with solid tread blocks. The X One XDA Energy tire is available in size 445/50R22.5 coast-to-coast, and will replace the Michelin X One XDA tire.

Thermo King has introduced three products – the TriPac Electric APU System, the T-1000 SPECTRUM Multi-Temp Unit for Trucks and the SmartPower High Output Electric Standby Option. The TriPac Electric APU System is an electric auxiliary idle reduction and temperature management system designed to maintain comfortable temperature conditions in the truck cab without running an engine. The T-1000 SPECTRUM Multi-Temp Unit for Trucks is a self-powered multi-temperature unit with scroll compressor technology. SPECTRUM’s SmartPower electric standby option along with its Advanced Fuel-Saving Control Technology provides fuel savings in all ambient conditions, hauling fresh or frozen. Its Tier 4 engine emits 38 percent less particulate matter and 54 percent less carbon monoxide than previous engines, the company says. The unit is available in a variety of two- and three-compartment configurations. The SmartPower High Output Electric Standby Option provides customers the choice of a 24-hp high-output electric standby option or the existing 14-hp version. It delivers quicker pre-cool and less run time for customers hauling larger frozen loads, along with a greater overall cooling capacity, the company said.

Exhaust System
Bully Dog’s E Model Exhaust Manifold for Class 8 engines replaces stock exhaust manifolds on Caterpillar models 3406E, model years 1994-2000, and C15, 1999-2004. The manifold provides 0.3-0.4 miles per gallon improvement in fuel economy and adds 30 additional horsepower to the rear wheels. The manifold is finished with a ceramic coating, improving airflow and reducing exhaust temperatures radiating off of the manifold by 300 degrees, the company says.

Engine oil drain valve
The Fumoto Valve is a quick-release brass ball valve that replaces a standard crankcase oil drain plug. By installing the valve, the company says, engine oil can drain without the use of tools and without a mess. The valve only requires one to lift the lever from its locked position and give it a quarter turn to open.

Battery isolator
Cole Hersee’s Smart Battery Isolator 48525 and 48530 prevents loads on the auxiliary battery from draining the starting battery, the company says.
