Banish red meat

To lower your risk of colon cancer and heart disease, banish red meat from your plate. According to the World Cancer Research Fund, people who ate red meat had a 17 percent increased risk of colon cancer compared to those who ate none. The biggest health hazard: processed meat, like cold cuts, bacon and sausage.
