Command 20 Series rechargeable LED headlamps generate 60 torch lumens for distance and panoramic lighting. The Command 20 Series is available in three models: the Fire Rechargeable, the Rechargeable Tasker S and the Rechargeable Tasker. Finding fault where it’s due
The Blue-Point Pocket iQ with NIXIQ Technologies is a handheld scan and triage diagnostic tool for all commercial trucks. The tool reads active fault codes, reads and clears inactive fault codes and monitors J1708, J1939 and OBD II engine data. It also allows technicians to save vehicle diagnostic and fleet performance information in PDF or text format directly to a PLC3 printer or memory stick.
Freightliner rolls out automated-manual tranny
Freightliner introduced AMT3, its new automated-manual transmission for BusinessClass M2 vehicles. Technology combines the design of a manual transmission with electronics to form an automated two-pedal shift system to enhance driver performance and improvee fuel economy, the company says.
Viscous dampers for Cat engines
The viscous damper for Caterpillar C10, C12 and C13 engines provides 500,000 miles of protection against torsional vibration crankshaft damage. Vibratech Torsional Viscous Dampers feature a freely rotating inertia ring that shears through a silicone layer within a laser-sealed housing.
Dual-compound steer tire
The XZA3+ Evertread steer tire features a dual-compound tread and a layer that keeps the casing cool, supports five tread bands and comprises the shoulder rib. The XZA3 meets CARB requirements and is SmartWay certified.
It’s hip to be square
The SK Hand Tool is designed with a square handle and a no-slip grip that helps mechanics gain leverage and maximize torque, the company says. The screwdriver is resistant to solvents, oils and chemicals, resists rust, and has a built-in hex bolter that doubles as a turning paver when used as a wrench.
Progressive offers pet policy
Pet insurance is available for up to $1,000 for commercial auto customers’ dogs and cats involved in vehicle catastrophes such as a crash, theft, fire or flood for Progressive Commercial customers with collision coverage.
Fuel/air separator system
The Fuel Preporator II removes air, water, particulates and vapor from fuel to maintain flow and delivery. The installation kit includes a relay control wiring harness, mounting hardware, frame brackets, return line and fittings and a low fuel-pressure indicator light.
Engine brake for Cummins
The Model 460 engine brake, developed in conjunction with Cummins, was built for the Cummins ISX 11.9 diesel engine and is rated between 346 and 390 hp at 1,900-2,100 rpm. It will be offered as optional equipment, comprising two engine brake housings and special exhaust valve bridges.
