He’s a special edition: There is only made one of his kind! Hardest working guy I know, hands down. He and my mother have been married for 25 years, and he’s driven a truck all over the country every single one of them to support her and my brother and me. He has been an owner-operator the biggest part of his career and with Mercer Transportation of Louisville, Ky., for 13 years. He’s been in Overdrive magazine for Mercer’s add and is among the top 10 percent of the company.
Even though he wasn’t home every day like a lot of fathers are he and my mother still established good old-fashioned morals and values into us boys growing up in a small town in the Ozarks of Missouri and also how hard work pays off. He also has given my brother and me exposure by taking us on the long hauls with him across the country so that we were able to see more than rural Missouri, even though it’s the best place on Earth! I feel like a lot of children growing up didn’t have that option and I really wish they did!
My whole family is in the trucking industry and always has been. I followed right along myself working for Peterbilt of St. Louis as a sales rep. I love when guys like my dad come in and tell their stories because I understand being that I drove a local truck through college myself. I owe all my successes to my father. He’s taught me everything I know about the trucking industry and is a huge contributor to where I am today.
