csa alertsThe public comment period on recently proposed changes to the CSA carrier ranking and enforcement program ends at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, July 29. FMCSA’s proposed changes to its Compliance, Safety, Accountability program include changing intervention thresholds in some of the BASIC categories and making the program’s hazmat category public.

FMCSA wants to lower the interventional threshold in the vehicle maintenance category (BASIC) to 75 percent from its current 80 percent, therefore targeting more carriers, and raise the intervention threshold of the controlled substances BASIC to 90 percent from its current 80 percent, thereby targeting fewer carriers.
