I’m a 35-year-old single mother to my 12-year-old daughter, Gabrielle. I have had my CDL class A since 2009 and currently haul tanker or flatbed for the natural gas industry in the northeast. The majority of my hauls are extreme mountain driving in ice, snow in the winter and mandatory chaining up. A lot of my runs I’m solo with no cell service or no one in radio range, so you get very used to relying on yourself and thinking on your feet.
I was raised on a dairy farm and my role model has been my father. He maintained the farm, worked full time at GE Railcar, then retired from there and now is employed full time as a crane operator. He taught us all the meaning of hard work. I have had setbacks, I was diagnosed with degenerative joint disease and have had to have a total reverse shoulder replacement already but I’m so thankful to get up every day and to be able to do what I love!
