The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has extended emergency declarations in Texas, Montana and the Dakotas in response to natural disasters, thus extending hours-of-service waivers for certain truckers in the states.

The Texas emergency declaration was extended through Dec. 22. Truckers providing emergency relief and direct assistance as a result of Hurricane Harvey can still operate under an HOS waiver.

Additionally, the emergency declaration in place for Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota has been extended through Dec. 15 as a result of severe drought conditions in the region. Hours regulations are waived for truckers hauling hay, feed, livestock, supplies and equipment into the states.
