25 for 25: Melvin Davis Jr.’s 2000 Freightliner Classic ‘Hillbilly Hilton’

One way we’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of Overdrive’s Pride & Polish this year is highlighting 25 of our best custom rigs videos.

In the 15th week of the countdown — which will span 25 weeks — here’s Melvin Davis Jr.’s 2000 Freightliner Classic, which has a mammoth a 163-inch super sleeper.

Davis named the truck the Hillbilly Hilton due to the massive sleeper and its RV-like features.

After Davis’ upgrades, the Classic is now equipped with a full-size shower and bed, easy chair, table, a full closet and a kitchen counter with a sink, refrigerator, microwave and cook stove.

Under the hood is the Classic’s original Detroit Series 60 with about 600,000 miles on it following a rebuild, and a 13-speed transmission.
