Craig Hershey's 2001 Kenworth W900: A daily log hauler

Craig Hershey's father bought this 2001 Kenworth W900 "from a guy in Idaho," and Hershey runs it daily now hauling logs in the day and chips in the evening out of a sawmill. The rig sports a 12.7-liter Detroit with a 10-speed. Hershey said when he's not working the truck during the week, he's tinkering on it on the weekends.

EPA to end DEF derates, roll back emissions warranty reg

Instead of the truck derating toward shutdown in steps with a DEF fault, the rule proposes that the driver or machine operator would receive an audible or visible alert. The engine would operate normally. At once, longer required manufacturer warranties of emissions equipment will be eliminated, too.
