Cummins-powered 2016 Peterbilt 389 hauls military equipment

Mark Reader Rig

The owner-operator of this 2016 Peterbilt 389, Mark, has hauled OTR since 1985, buying his first truck in 1990. Throughout the career, he's pulled dry vans, food-grade tankers, step decks and now a the 2012 XL Specialized RGN. He's been leased to XLG Transportation since 2021 and runs the Lower 48, hauling mostly military equipment along with the occasionally oversized piece of construction machinery.

He bought the '16 389 featured here in April 2018 with 263,000 miles on the odometer. The rig now boasts upward of 860,000 miles, and it's powered by a 600-hp Cummins with a 13-speed and 3.25 rears.
