Cost of truck financing has risen, even as owner-operator credit scores show improvement
Credit-score polling showed some improvement for owner-ops over five years, yet the hesitancy to extend various forms of credit at lower rates has grown most in recent years for new carriers with authority “and 1-3-truck operators, regardless of their credit score.” For all with three trucks or less, it’s gotten more expensive to borrow money.
