A large truck stop along I-95 in North Carolina is adding considerable truck service capacity.
The Kenly 95 Petro truck stop, which is part of the Iowa 80 Group, plans to add a 30,000-square-foot, six-bay diesel repair and customer service facility. The project is expected to cost $4 million and create 15 new jobs.
The truck stop, which opened in 1980 and was purchased by Iowa 80 in 2004, occupies 85,000 square feet on 52 acres. Kenly 95 Petro employs some 200 people.
In 2016 the company added a 23,000-square-foot “Super Truck Showroom.”
Construction is expected to take about six months. Iowa 80’s flagship truck stop, the Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, Iowa, announced last year it is undergoing a $10 million remodel.
