A compact workout

It’s 10 minutes before you need to hit the road again. Enough for a walk? Maybe not. To keep your body healthy, you should implement a regimen balancing cardiovascular exercise with lifting weights or practicing yoga, pilates or the like. So when you only have a few minutes, make the most of them!

You don’t need me to tell you there’s no way you can fit a Bowflex weight machine in your cab. But you can make room for a few smaller items, which I’ve outlined below.

Fitness hoop: These hoops aren’t just for kids. They provide a great workout for your core — I promise you’ll feel it in your abdominal muscles. I sure did!

Jump rope: If you haven’t used a jump rope in years (or ever), take it easy at first. Your ankles will take quite a blow if you get overzealous. Start with two or three sets of 10 jumps, and work up from there.

Bosu Sport Balance Trainer: Do a lot of research before investing in this. Depending on which accessories you purchase, it can cost as much as $109, a huge investment. But the great thing about Bosu is it offers strength training for all areas of your body. The videos on the site offer much more information than I could try to describe here, so check it out!
