Great-Looking Rigs

Claim to Fame
This 1999 Peterbilt 379 has a C-12 Caterpillar under its extended hood to go along with its chicken lights and 6-inch straight pipes. Driver Kevin Benson uses this chromed-out beast to haul grain, feed, fertilizer, rock and sand for owners Scott and Mark Hoewing.

Old #3
John and Carrie Gabhart, of Shoals, Ind., lease this 1987 Peterbilt Classic 359 extended-hood to Bedford Transport, of Shoals, Ind., to haul limestone products and building materials. Even fully loaded, there’s no trouble moving the 272-inch wheelbase, with a 425-hp Caterpillar and Eaton 13-speed double-over transmission. But that tough exterior houses a softer and more comfortable side – Bostrum leather seats, a TV/DVD player and Pioneer CD player.
