CARRIERS HONORED FOR INFORMATION TECH USE
Arkansas Best Freight System won CIO magazine’s Enterprise Value Award, which recognizes applications of information technology. The award will be presented at the 2005 CIO Perspectives on Enterprise Value Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Feb. 6-8.

InformationWeek magazine named Landstar Systems as one of the 500 Leading Innovative Companies on its 2004 list of America’s most innovative information technology users. This is the fifth consecutive year the company has made the list.


CFI HOLDS DRIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Bill Clanton was named Grand Champion at Contract Freighters Inc.’s third annual driving championships at its headquarters in Joplin, Mo. Runners-up were John Lisle and Allen Zwingle.


AWARDS & RECOGNITION
Dale Ramsey and his son Mike Ramsey are NATIONAL CARRIERS’ July and August Drivers of the Month. This is the first time the company has given the award to a father and son.
Dale has been with National for 24 years, Mike for 17 years.

SITTON MOTOR LINES’ recent drivers of the month in 2004 include: Mark Grundmeier of Van Buren, Ark., February; Samuel Lucas Jr. of Auburn, Ala., March; Rickey Lee of Joplin, Mo., April; Clyde Guthrie of Nevada, Mo., May; Randy Lockard of Carthage, Mo., June; and Dennis Bryant of Wewoka, Okla., July.
