CRASH STUDY IS MISLEADING
The latest Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration passenger vehicle/truck crash study is a farce. The most reliable truck-car crash study was completed by the Federal Highway Administration in April 1999: “Driver-Related Factors in Crashes Between Large Trucks and Passenger Vehicles” (FHWA-MCRT-99-011).

The study examined 8,309 fatal crashes between large trucks and passenger vehicles from 1994 to 1996. Its finding: “Errors on the part of the passenger vehicle driver were recorded significantly more often than errors on the part of the truck driver.
