Pride in your ride

You might notice something new in the Petro Stopping Center magazine racks this month. I’m talking about the magazine pictured on this page: Custom Rigs.

We at Overdrive couldn’t help but notice the growing interest in truck customizing. It’s not just our Pride & Polish winners or the spectacular results popularized by the Chrome Shop Mafia on television’s “Trick My Truck,” but also the many unsung owner-operators who take great pride in their rides. They’re willing to spend the bucks and sweat to make their rigs stand out above the crowd and keep them looking good, even though those trucks take a beating on the road. Their efforts are a credit to these owner-operators, and their rolling works of art are a credit to our industry’s oft-maligned image.

If you love trucks, you’ll be thrilled with the contents of Custom Rigs: Knockout photos of cool trucks. The latest trends in customizing. Details on the year’s top truck beauty shows. Practical information on new customizing products and do-it-yourself items to enhance your rig.

If you miss Custom Rigs later this month at the truck stops, I hope you’ll stop by our Randall-Reilly Publishing booth at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., and pick up a free copy. After you’ve had a chance to read it, let me know your ideas. We’ll consider them as we prepare the next issue, appearing in late August.
