Diesel prices mixed

The national average retail price of a gallon of diesel dipped this week, while some market prices increased according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The national price declined 0.5 cent to $2.956 in the latest week.

The price is 34.8 cents higher than a year ago.

Regions including the Lower Atlantic, Midwest, Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain fell, while the East Coast, West Coast and California reported higher prices, led by 2.2 cents to $3.147 in California. The cheapest diesel remained on the Gulf Coast at $2.893 a gallon.
