Airman introduces air flow control product

Updated Jul 31, 2012

Airman Inc. has a new air flow control product, Wingman, which has demonstrated a more than 9 percent increase in a miles-per-gallon live test when installed on a Class 8 trailer loaded to 79,800 pounds and driven by the rig’s owner on a 500-mile run from Missoula to Miles City, Mont., the company says.

Airman Inc. says it is slated to receive its CARB certification this fall.

Wingman is tucked-in next to the rear axles and moves with the axles. Its compact design prevents damage from curbs, railroads or large elevation changes in skirt-unfriendly docks. Because Wingman is so short, under-trailer access is not impeded.  The product’s design also provides constant mileage benefits for all axle configurations, the company says.
