Surface trade rises in December

Surface transportation trade between the United States and Canada and Mexico in December increased 11.6 percent over December 2010 to $74.2 billion, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

U.S.-Canada and U.S.-Mexico surface transportation trade both increased from a year earlier. U.S.-Canada trade rose 11.2 percent to $44.2 billion, while U.S.-Mexico trade gained 12.1 percent to $30 billion.
