A Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration subcommittee will meet next week to talk potential enhancements to the agency’s Compliance, Safety, Accountability program, with topics centering on the agencies Safety Measurement System and the agency’s intervention and investigative processes, according to an entry in the Federal Register.

The CSA Subcommittee — subcommittee to FMCSA’s Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee — will meet Monday-Thursday, June 17-20, in Arlington, Va., 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the National Training Center on N. Courthouse Road. The meeting is open to the public, and oral comments will be heard from the public during the last half-hour of the meetings each day.

FMCSA says the subcommittee will also try to prioritize any recommended changes to the CSA program to show FMCSA how to devote time and resources to the “most important or timely needs.”

The MCSAC is responsible for providing assistance and recommendations to FMCSA on motor carrier programs and regulations. It is comprised of 20 stakeholders from the trucking industry, motor carrier safety advocacy, enforcement and labor sectors.

Public comment may be submitted before the meetings, too, via the Federal eRulemaking Portal at regulations.gov; fax, 202-493-2251; mail, U.S. Department of Transportation, 1200 New Jersey Ave. SE, West Building, Room W12-140; or hand delivered to the same address.
