Rookie driver to win $10,000, other prizes

Trucking's Top Rookie Logo - Web MdFriday, June 27,  is the deadline for entering the Mike O’Connell Memorial Trucking’s Top Rookie contest, which awards $10,000 to the winner.

The winner will also receive: a RoadPro Getting Started Living On-The-Go Package; $1,000 cash and 100,000 MyRewards points from Pilot Flying J; a GPS unit from Rand McNally; an American Trucking Associations “Good Stuff Trucks Bring It” package; a dash camera from Cobra Electronics; and a custom plaque from Award Company of America, a division of Randall-Reilly, the publisher of Overdrive.

The other nine finalists will receive $1,000 and similar prizes.

The winner will be interviewed by Eric Harley on the RedEye Radio Network and will be recognized during the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Aug. 21-23.

Randall-Reilly Recruiting Media launched Trucking’s Top Rookie contest, in conjunction with the Truckload Carriers Association, to increase pride among new drivers and to promote driving as a career.

Randall-Reilly industry partners in the program have included Shell Rotella, Progressive Insurance, Pilot Flying J and Rand McNally.
