‘Truck of the year’ goes severe-duty, vocational in 2015

ATD Truck of the year 2015

This year, the American Truck Dealers group’s “Truck of the Year” award will recognize the top truck entered in the vocational and heavy haul/severe duty category. The nominees are (pictured above, from left) the International WorkStar 7600, Kenworth T880 with Paccar MX-13 engine and the Peterbilt Model 567.

The winner will be announced on Saturday, January 24, at the 2015 ATD Convention & Expo in San Francisco, determined by a panel of judges who will test drive and evaluate the trucks at Manheim San Francisco Bay on January 19. The judging categories include innovation, design, safety, driver ergonomics and comfort.

Other events at the ATD convention include keynote remarks from ATD Chairman Eric Jorgensen, president and CEO of JX Enterprises Inc., and Thomas Frey, executive director and senior futurist at the DaVinci Institute.
