The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings for areas from Texas and Oklahoma east to the Appalachians and beyond this morning as a cold front was expected to bring falling temps to an area already beset by rains, in many cases. Rain would turn to sleet and freezing rain through the day and into tonight. Significant now accumulation in more northerly areas was likewise expected.
