DAT Solutions today announced the availability of its updated, web-based DAT Power load board, delivering results faster, reducing clicks and keystrokes, and containing unique teamwork features that enable users working in groups to see what each team member is working on.

A complete redesign of its flagship load board, DAT Power uses proprietary emPower technology, which learns how the user works, becoming faster and smarter the more it’s used, the company says. In a March briefing with Overdrive, DAT product manager Scott McCollister characterized the technology underpinning the new version of the Power board as inspired by “sites like Facebook and Google, which enable real-time transmission of data…. Feedback so far has been very positive – people are able to get their work done faster and more efficiently.”

McCollister noted that dynamic sliders to refine search results “are available to users… Every time you move a slider the results are updated immediately … as fast as data travels across the Internet.” Broker reviews have likewise been brought into results. “Carriers can receive review score for a broker or shipper before picking up the phone – they can also rate their own network of their favorite brokers or shippers,” he added.McCollister noted that dynamic sliders to refine search results “are available to users… Every time you move a slider the results are updated immediately … as fast as data travels across the Internet.” Broker reviews have likewise been brought into results. “Carriers can receive review score for a broker or shipper before picking up the phone – they can also rate their own network of their favorite brokers or shippers,” he added.

The Power board is DAT’s “top of the line product,” said Senior Vice President Ken Harper. “The number of Power sales to owner-operators is significant,” even with what is a higher price tag than a basic TruckersEdge subscription.

As Overdrive has previously reported, an uptick in the freight hitting the spot market via brokers and 3PLs has led growth in rates going to owner-operators around the country. More than half “of all the freight on DAT’s load boards in 2014 had ‘headhaul’ rates,” Harper noted.

Updates to the Power board allow it to learn user preferences “based on the lanes you operate,” said McCollister. “It learns as you use the product,” which enables even faster results. “Feedback from customers has been very strong.”
