Hirschbach Motor Lines (No. 105 on the CCJ Top 250) has decided to incorporate the Lytx DriveCam in-cab video system into its fleet of trucks.

The company says it tested different video systems over the last year and a half before deciding on Lytx and adds it will help exonerate its drivers when they are not at fault, while also increasing safety.

The DriveCam system mounts on the center of the windshield of the truck and captures short bursts of video clips when there are safety events such as hard braking, a sudden stop, roll stability and more, Lytx says. The driver can also manually activate the system by pressing a button on the camera.
