Eaton’s new Endurant 12-speed automated transmission is now available on Kenworth’s T680 and Peterbilt’s models 579 and 567 spec’d with a Cummins X15 Efficiency series engine the truck makers announced Wednesday.

The Endurant comes standard with Paccar’s column mounted shifter, which integrates the engine brake and gear selection into a single stalk.

“The Endurant transmission was optimized for the Cummins X15 engine and gives our customers another powertrain option,” says Scott Newhouse, Peterbilt Chief Engineer.

“The 12-speed Endurant automated transmission is an important technological advancement for the Kenworth T680,” adds Patrick Dean, Kenworth chief engineer.

The transmission offers engine ratings up to 510-hp and 1,850 lb-ft of torque, and weight savings up to 105 pounds compared to competitive automated transmissions.
