The “HackTheIndustry” event is scheduled for April this year on Georgia Tech’s campus in Atlanta as part of a program sponsored in part by the Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BiTA) and its affiliated Freightwaves.com freight-tech publication, among others.

Hackathons typically are designed to pit teams of tech specialists against one another in a controlled, competitive setting to expose systems’ vulnerabilities toward, ultimately, providing greater security. According to Freightwaves.com, the event will be participated in primarily by Georgia Tech students, with winners granted the opportunity to present their results to trucking-industry leaders at the May Transparency18 BiTA conference on collaborative freight ecosystems built on blockchain architecture.
