Several of the nation’s largest fleets have recently announced more pay increases for their truck drivers.
C.R. England (No. 20) recently announced a pay increase for its Over the Road division that will affect about 60 percent of its drivers. The boost in pay ranges from 5.3 percent to 25 percent and is dependent on a driver’s tenure with the company and whether they run solo, as a team or are a trainer.
KLLM Transport Services (No. 35) has begun paying its solo company drivers between 45 and 55 cents-per-mile, depending on experience level, while it has increased OTR team pay to between 55 and 60 cents-per-mile.
Under the new pay scale, which goes into effect June 17, flatbed regional student drivers will earn 47 cpm; flatbed OTR student drivers will earn 49 cpm; OTR glass student drivers will earn 53 cpm; and OTR temperature control drivers will earn 49 cpm.
The company is also offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to drivers with at least six months of OTR experience.
