Approximately 150 model year 2019 International LT tractors are being recalled by Navistar over a potential brakes issue, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents.

The affected trucks are equipped with feature codes 29WAY, 504312 and 504455. In these tractors, the lightweight brake drums with slack adjusters may drag against the brakes, causing the drums to overheat.

In the case of a drum overheating, the drum could crack and separate from the truck, making the brakes inoperative.

Navistar began notifying owners of the recall on May 23. Dealers will replace the brake drums and slack adjusters and replace the brake linings for free.

Owners of affected trucks can contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 with recall number 18507. NHTSA’s recall number is 18V-306.
