A Georgia truck driver was arrested after police say he shot at another vehicle while driving on Interstate 95 in Chesterfield County, Virginia.

Virginia State Police report that 26-year-old Terrelle M. Jackson of Atlanta, Ga., shot at a 2001 Nissan pickup early Saturday, June 23, near the 67-mile marker. The 51-year-old driver of that truck, who police did not identify, was not injured.

An initial investigation revealed that Jackson cut off the Nissan while both vehicles were traveling south on I-95, then drove his tractor-trailer alongside the pickup and fired at it. The pickup driver then got off at Exit 61 and called police.

While it’s unclear how many shots were fired, troopers found at least one gun shot hole in the Nissan.

Police found Jackson at a service station off Exit 58 in Chesterfield County and arrested him without incident. He was charged with attempted malicious wounding, shooting from a vehicle and brandishing a firearm.

The incident remains under investigation with the assistance of the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Richmond Field Office.
