How good are your inspection skills? You can test them against others through Saturday morning at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas.

TA/Petro, in a partnership with FedEx Custom Critical, is sponsoring a pre-trip inspection contest. The top three winners will receive UltraOne points, which can be redeemed for products and services at TA/Petro facilities.

Contestants are timed and have up to 10 minutes to find as many defects as possible, says Homer Hogg, director of technical service for TA Truck Service.

“There’s more than they can probably find in the time we can give them,” he says.

A Freightliner Cascadia and a Freightliner Columbia from the FedEx fleet are used for the inspections.

In the event of a tie, the contestant who completed the inspection in the shortest time will win. The contest will end at noon Saturday. At 1 p.m., pre-trip inspection training will be offered to attendees until 4 p.m.
