Weekend construction closures set for I-10 in Phoenix, I-15 in Vegas

Nevada and Arizona transportation officials will close portions of two major interstates this weekend for ongoing construction projects in Las Vegas and Phoenix, respectively.

The Nevada Department of Transportation will close I-15 southbound between U.S. Highway 95 and Charleston Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, through 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 95 northbound to Martin Luther King Boulevard to re-enter I-15 at the Pinto Lane on-ramp.

The closure is needed to pour concrete for four bridge decks as part of a new high occupancy vehicle flyover structure, NDOT says.

In Phoenix, the Arizona Department of Transportation will close I-10 eastbound between 67th and 51st avenues from 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, through 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. ADOT recommends drivers allow extra travel time through the city and consider using Loop 101 west of I-17 as an alternate route.
