A two-week enforcement blitz targeting aggressive driving behaviors along I-94 in Michigan resulted in 175 citations being issued to truck drivers, according to Michigan State Police.
The Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks campaign, held June 3-14 along I-94 between Jackson and Taylor, targeted violations from passenger and truck drivers such as improper lane use, careless and reckless driving, speeding, following too closely and failure to yield the right-of-way.
In addition to the 175 citations issued to truckers, officers also issued 878 citations to passenger drivers for various violations.
MSP says between 2014 and 2018, 86 people were either killed or seriously injured on I-94 in Jackson, Washtenaw and Wayne counties, which is why the corridor was selected for additional enforcement.
