LaneHoney market data site updating in Oct.

The LaneHoney spot market data site intended to deliver information to all market participants, including independent owner-operators, notes its updated data engine will be available in preview to existing customers until October 15 free of charge, offering market detail with info sourced directly from shippers and carriers to “provide you with an accurate picture of rates, surcharges, and fees without the broker bias rife in our industry,” the company says.

One example of data available via the LaneHoney company via its website. Queried about some of the wide spreads between average shipper-paid rates and carrier rates, LaneHoney’s Roseanne Stanzione said the wide spread reflects the reality of shipper-paid fees like “rewraps, lumpers, wait time, pallet charges, you name it.”One example of data available via the LaneHoney company via its website. The preview offers the opportunity for existing customers to view pricing on lanes across the United States as a potential negotiation tool, and in addition, customers can:

  • See lists of available loads, plus the market conditions by truck/trailer type and location
  • See brokers that cover particular lanes
  • See fulfillment performance of brokers on a lane
  • Receive the company’s daily “Highest Demand for Trucks” and “Fastest Filled Loads” reports

In mid-October, LaneHoney says, it’s adding load/unload location wait times and other features. The company welcomes use of its data portal by anyone needing price and performance data for the freight business, from truckers to dispatchers, brokers and agents to shippers.
