Trucking news and briefs for Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020: 

Kenworth offering discount to OOIDA members
For the 18th consecutive year, Kenworth and the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association are partnering to offer a $1,000 discount to OOIDA members on qualifying purchases of new Kenworth sleeper trucks in 2020.

Eligible trucks are the Kenworth T680, T880 and W990 with a 52-inch or larger factory-installed sleeper. Both new stock and special order vehicles qualify.

Buyers must show their OOIDA membership card to their Kenworth dealer at time of purchase in 2020. A copy of the bill of sale and warranty, along with the buyer’s OOIDA membership number, must be mailed to: OOIDA, P.O. Box 1000, Grain Valley, MO 64029, or faxed to OOIDA at (816) 229-0518.

The deal is limited to three truck purchases per year per customer.

Pilot Flying J opens new Washington state location
Pilot Flying J this week opened a new travel stop in Ellensburg, Washington that features 48 truck parking spaces off if I-90 southeast of Seattle.

The location also offers eight diesel fueling lanes, a Cinnabon restaurant, five showers, public laundry and more. The store is the company’s ninth Washington location.

Additionally, for the next five weeks, PFJ is offering truck drivers 25% off deli food at all PFJ locations. The deal can be redeemed through March 1 in the Pilot Flying J app.
