As we head into Memorial Day weekend it’s likely some of you out there will enjoy a rare round of golf with a friend or relative in town for once in a while. My father’s coming to town, so I know I will, and it will be a perhaps more-than-rare round indeed. I don’t play much — or well — that’s sure.
If only I could tool around the course in the golf cart you see pictured here, which I came across at the headquarters of Gallatin, Tenn.-based Music City Coach when working on the story I posted yesterday about Grascals tour bus driver Stuart Myrick. Though I didn’t manage to clarify the story behind the custom cart (other than to get word that it was sort of “inherited” by the coach fleet and maintenance outfit after the passing away of its owner, friend of a longtime employee there), it’s clear at least that there’s more than one custom-truck enthusiast out there who hits the links.
Here’s to happy home time to those who’ve made it back in — for those laid over elsewhere or with many miles ahead, hey, joys of the road to you!
