ChampTruck descends on Illinois for free race this weekend

ChampTruck racers battled the elements in addition to each other in the May 21 race at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Ill., will welcome the ChampTruck World Series this Saturday, June 11, for the fourth race of truck series’ second season.

ChampTruck will hold a practice at 8:50 a.m., followed by a qualifying session at 10 a.m. There will be five heat races throughout the day at 11:20 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:10 p.m., followed by the Podium Race to determine the weekend’s winner at 5:15 p.m. This weekend’s event is free to the public, and gates open at 7 a.m. Saturday.

The first three races of the season have seen three different winners in Mack technician Mike Morgan, Allen Boles and Tommy Boileau.
