This 2001 Peterbilt 379 is owned by George Shaver out of eastern North Carolina. The truck is equipped with a 475-horsepower Caterpillar and a 10-speed transmission. He added the custom purple paint job with flames on the hood, 22-inch bumper with custom lights and the 8-inch miter stacks. The frame of the truck is also painted purple. Shaver, a retired detective sergeant after 32 years, runs trees and nursery products across the U.S., but mainly up and down the East Coast, for Worthington Farms in Greenville, N.C. Shaver also works as a part-time CDL instructor and state examiner, and he uses the truck in “Touch a Truck” programs to help teach children about the importance of truck drivers.
