John Kump, out of Santa Fe, New Mexico, lives large in this 2005 Kenworth T600, “Rolling Thunder,” which features a 170-inch ARI sleeper. The rig is powered by a Cat that’s tuned up to 680-hp with an Eaton 10-speed AutoShift. Kump is leased on to Landstar with the truck and mostly hauls Boeing, Lockheed Martin, NASA freight and more. The paint job, which is all paint with no vinyl graphics, was done two years ago by Kump and some of his friends. Inside the rig are two Bose Ride heated seats, a new steering wheel, two 40-inch flatscreen TVs with in-motion satellite, surround sound, subwoofers, amps, LED lighting and more. The trailer is a 2000 Reitnouer 48-foot spread axle with a conestoga kit. It features polished aluminum all around, and the air lines are under the trailer for a clean look with nothing behind the sleeper. Kump also has a Total Gym in the front of the trailer for staying in shape on the road.
