Citing insufficient data to support a new rulemaking, FMCSA denied CVSA's request from earlier this year asking for time or distance limits on truck drivers' use of the personal conveyance guidance around the hours of service regulations.

In response to a fire shutting down BP's Whiting, Indiana, oil refinery, FMCSA has issued a regional emergency declaration, suspending hours regs for gasoline, diesel and jet fuel haulers in four states.
