Rick Meijer, an Orono, Ontario, native, owns this 2002 Peterbilt 379, which is powered by a 550-hp Cat and 18-speed transmission. The owner-operator is leased to Landstar and hauls step-deck machinery. Meijer wanted to keep the truck reminiscent of the old-school tractors, so he dropped both the front and the back six inches and added 6-inch pipes. The headlights were taken from a 359, and Meijer made sure to take it easy on the chrome, in keeping with the theme. The interior has been painted orange and black.
Affected trucks include model year 2008-2018 Freightliner Cascadia and Western Star 4700, 4900, 5700 and 6900 trucks. DTNA says after hard brake applications, the brake light pressure switch may not activate the brake lights with the light application of the brake pedal.
