Truck drivers in Montana will soon see increased speed limits on interstates and highways within the state.
Montana Gov. Steve Bullock signed into law this month a bill that will raise the speed limit for trucks on interstates from 65 to 70 miles per hour. The bill also raises the speed limit for trucks on other highways in the state from 60 to 65 mph.
A date has not yet been set for when the new speed limits will take effect.
Currently, trucks on state highways in Montana are limited to 55 mph at night. The new law will do away with the day/night split speeds for trucks.
Cars will still be allowed to travel 80 mph on rural interstates and 70 mph on two-lane highways during the day and 65 mph at night.
