Nobody knows the major haul routes and road conditions like all of you, that's sure. With a big infrastructure funding reauthorization slated for next year in Congress, we want to hear your recommendations for states and particular routes where improvements are most needed.
Back after some hiatus, I'm happy to intro Overdrive's "Highway Report Card" survey, which you can complete in about five minutes via this link. It asks owner-operators and other professional truckers among Overdrive readers to:
- Name state with the worst roads.
- ID the interstate route in the state that would get your vote for absolute worst there -- there is an "Other" write-in option, too, for non-interstate highways if that's your selection.
- Share your insight on just why you chose that state and route.
Recognizing there's likely plenty to learn from jurisdictions around the country that do a better-than-average job of road upkeep and design, the same process then asks for the absolute best state and route in the nation, in your experience.

Through a similar process, you can then ID states among the worst of the worst and best of the best -- particular metro regions, too -- when it comes to truck parking availability, perennially among the biggest concerns for readers. Ultimately, your insight will help us get the message to the wider public and legislators as they prioritize infrastructure spending.
Here's a big thanks for it, and feel free to share the link with other pros in your network, too.

Run through the survey, which should be open for the next couple of weeks for responses, here. Got a good dash- or windshield-cam photo or video that relates to your selections? Get in touch with me directly via email anytime.
