Reservable truck parking in five new shared-terminal locations

All are in Overdrive readers' named worst metros or states for parking availability.

The Outpost company added five new shared-terminal facilities in Newark, New Jersey; Miami; and across California, all adding truck parking spaces in either a top 10 ranking worst metro or worst state for parking as per the 2025 Truckers' Highway Report Card from Overdrive.

California ranked as the second worst state for parking in the 2025 report, Newark and Miami Nos. 1 and 6 worst among metros, respectively. (New Jersey as a state landed at No. 3 worst.)

Any additional parking options should come as welcome news there for truckers, yet Outpost facilities are accessible only through paid reservations, "by the day or month, space or acre," the company said.

Among chief reader complaints about the states and metros high on the report card's worst-parking lists? "Almost everything is pay-to-park."

Outpost's shared-terminal facilities offer more than just parking, though, and the company's been steadily expanding since it launched in November 2021 with a different name, Semi Stow. The new locations mark the company's first entry in the critical Northeast freight corridor and deepen the company's presence in South Florida and California.

The new facility in Newark (pictured) sits at 90 Kingsland Avenue in Clifton, New Jersey, a 7.1-acre site with a 9,667-square-foot maintenance facility and 1,131 square feet of office space. The three new California properties -- in Stockton, Livermore, and Torrance -- are part of Outpost's investment in EV Realty, an owner and operator of commercial fleet electric charging hubs. The sites will be of immediate utility to fleets through Outpost, even as they undergo permitting for near-term electrification, the company said.

Good news in Torrance in particular, given the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim metro was just behind New York-Newark in the Truckers' Highway Report Card at No. 2 worst for truck parking in the nation

Details on California and Miami locations are as follows:

  • Stockton: 1549 Industrial Drive, on 4.1 acres situated immediately north of Stockton Airport, within two miles of I-5 and SR-99, and five miles from the Port of Stockton.
  • Livermore: 461 McGraw Ave., 2.75 acres along I-580, linking the Port of Oakland with San Joaquin Valley distribution centers and intermodal facilities.
  • Torrance: 18715 S. Western Ave., 2.2 acres adjacent to I-405 near the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, supporting heavy drayage and regional logistics, with proximity to LAX.
  • Miami: 3200 N.W. 67th Ave., a 17-acre flagship asset within Foreign Trade Zone 281. Positioned immediately off the runways of Miami International Airport (MIA) and under 9 miles from PortMiami.

“Air cargo has airports, intermodal has rail yards, and ocean freight has ports, but trucking, which moves over 70% of U.S. freight every year, has no unified infrastructure to power the flow of goods across the country,” said Trent Cameron, Outpost co-founder and CEO.

Outpost's mission is to change that dynamic with its shared-terminal approach, he added. And with the "investment in EV Realty, we’re expanding our network footprint for the immediate needs of today’s fleets while positioning Outpost as the infrastructure platform for mixed fleets in the years ahead.”
